Welcome to The Culture Thrift

My ideas for this blog have been written down on a note pad for three years.  Yes, it has taken me three years to finally (finally!) create.  Why today, do you ask?  I suppose I have finally given in because I no longer want to walk around, headlining blog posts of my ideas in my head,  of a blog that doesn't even exist.  I have always enjoyed sharing these ideas with others, as I very often do, though now I would like to expand the range of potential audience.  I also seem to find myself with a lack of time boundary as my husband and I have recently moved out of our home, out of our city, out of our state, and even our region of the country to live in the unknown land of Chicago for his new job.

So... The Culture Thrift?

The Culture Thrift was born out of the principle that one has myriad designs on her life and how she wants it to be, but perhaps not the immediate resources to make that happen.  She wants culture and cuisine, an active way of living, beauty inside and out, in her home and her self.

She also wants to enjoy what she already has and to remember the blessings that she receives every single day but sometimes overlooks.  Focusing on what is important and defining culture for herself is also crucial because otherwise it will be defined for her.

All it takes is a little creativity, WORK, and drive.  You need to open yourself up to the possibility in everything, like you are a treasure hunter for a living.  As my four best friends and I would always say "limited funds... unlimited fun."

This blog will be dedicated to fitness, finds, food, and fun... the "Culture Thrift" way.
